A documentary game of human proportions.
Developed in partnership with documentarian Marco Williams to accompany his film The Undocumented, The Migrant Trail introduces players to the hardships and perils of crossing the Sonoran Desert.
Players experience the crossing as a migrant making the trek from Mexico to the United States, then step into the shoes of the U.S. Border Patrol agents policing that same desert. By integrating characters, stories, and visuals from the film alongside intense gameplay decisions, The Migrant Trail allows players to more deeply experience and understand the human toll of our border policies.
The game was one of three games nominated for “Most Significant Impact” at the 2014 Games for Change Awards.
